On June 1, the artist Anda_abstract will open in the Schlokenbek manor complex
painting exhibition “MANOR STORIES”.
On June 1 at 14:00 in Shlokenbek manor, Milzkalne, Smārde parish, Tukum county, the artist Anda_abstract, a representative of abstract expressionism, will open an exhibition of paintings “MANOR STORIES” – about events that took place over several centuries. Eight baronial families have farmed the manor over 400 years.
The ŠLOKENBEKA manor ensemble is a unique cultural monument and the only fortified medieval manor complex in Latvia.
“The ancient and eventful history of the manor inspired me to create a special large format, because at every step you can feel the breath of history and the many events of the century” – this is what the artist says about her painting.
The artist’s works are exhibited in the former horse stable, which has been renovated, preserving the ancient stone wall outcrops, and two halls have been set up for events. In the largest hall, for the first time in the history of the manor, 8 ANDA_ABSTRACT large-format works on the walls of ancient stone walls can be viewed using special solutions of pillars. On the other hand, the artist’s 18 abstract paintings of different formats are exhibited in the adjacent hall. The Milzkalne library is located in the manor complex and there is also an ongoing exhibition of paintings with 7 works by the painter.
ANDA_ABSTRACT HAS PAINTED A SPECIAL LARGE-FORMAT (150X100 CM, LINEN/ACRYLIC/GOLD) WORK – “MANOR STORIES” FOR THE SCHLOKENBEKAS MANOR ENSEMBLE, WHERE, MERGING REALISM WITH ABSTRACT, HE DESCRIBED A TURN OF THE CENTURY LOVE STORY BETWEEN A BARON’S SON AND A MILLER’S DAUGHTER. A fragment of the building of the SCHLOKENBECK manor is painted with the two lovers in the arch of the building and water raining over them, because according to the Western legend, they jumped into the lake while fleeing from the baron.
Anda_abstract At the opening of the “MANOR STORIES” exhibition on June 1 at 2:00 p.m., it will be possible to view the large-format work “MANOR STORIES” dedicated to the Shlokenbek manor for the first time, as well as to enjoy special musical performances performed by the young musician and composer – Jura Patrikas on the jamba on the theme of manor life. All guests will have the opportunity to learn how the artist’s works are made, take photos and enjoy delicious snacks!
The EXHIBITION “MANOR STORIES” will be on display until September 30!
