On June 2 at 14:00 in Schlockenbeck manor, Milzkalne, Smārde parish, Tukum county, the artist Anda_abstract, a representative of abstract expressionism, will open the painting exhibition “MANOR STORIES” – about events that took place over the course of several centuries. The manor has been farmed by eight baronial families over the course of 400 years.

The Schlockenbeck manor ensemble is a unique cultural monument and the only fortified medieval manor complex in Latvia.

“The ancient and eventful history of the manor inspired me to create a special large format, because the breath of history and the many events of the century can be felt at every step” – this is what the artist says about her painting.

The artist’s works are exhibited in the former horse stable, which has been renovated, preserving the ancient stone wall outcrops, and two halls have been arranged for events. For the first time in the history of the manor, 8 large-format works by ANDA_ABSTRACT on the walls of ancient stone walls can be viewed in the largest hall using special solutions of pillars. On the other hand, the artist’s 18 abstract paintings of different formats are exhibited in the adjacent hall. The Milzkalne library is located in the manor complex and there is also an ongoing exhibition of paintings with 7 works by the painter.
